The podcast Wrongful Conviction is very sobering, in that it interviews hundreds and hundreds of people who were wrongly accused and have had to fight police and prosecutors’ false narratives about them. Bone Valley is a particularly egregious example of this, and an especially galling example of how difficult it is to overturn convictions once they are handed down. Reporter Gilbert King and his team do a heroic job in investigating the ways in which Leo Scofield—a man whose wife was murdered in 1987—was railroaded by the system, and what his defendants try to do about it.
