I am cheating here in using the title Crash for two works. The award-winning film depicts an LA in which various characters separated by race, class, gender, and language crash into one another (literally and figuratively). Then Season One of Crash the television show expertly channels that spirit into an entire show. From the very first scene onward, assumptions, miscommunications, ambiguities, and crossed wires are on full display, reminding us of how easy it is to misjudge the complex society we live in. This author recommends Season One only.
