Maia Kobabe’s memoir of trying to figure out their sexuality is vulnerable, honest, and not easy to summarize (which is kind of the point). Luckily for us, they are also a very talented artist, and so their winding journey towards self-understanding and self-acceptance is a pleasure to look at and to read. What perhaps is most helpful is that Kobabe is not trying to preach anything to anyone else—they are simply trying to make sense of themselves and their world, inside and out.
