Years ago the Canadian comic Johnathan Goldstein did a piece for This American Life in which he tried to answer the question, How and why did my father and my uncle have such a falling out? The answer was both funny and poignant, and it led Goldstein to create this podcast. Each episode repeats the same structure: Goldstein gets people together who never got closure on a shared experience and tries to achieve that closure. Goldstein does tragicomic very well, alternating between intentionally obnoxious and intentionally compassionate. There are both very funny and deeply moving moments.
