The music critic Ann Powers started this project by developing, curating and sharing the list “Turning the Tables: The 150 Greatest Albums Made by Women.” This has grown into many different projects, including this book. It is easy and fun to read insofar as you can open it at random and enjoy insightful and heartfelt criticism about a particular female artist.
