Commentary

A group of successful women of color consider their relationships to their mothers and grandmothers. What I so appreciate about this documentary is that there is no one unifying theme; there is no one kind of relationship between mothers and daughters; and the variety and diversity of experience is allowed to simply speak for itself. There is room for both profundity and whimsy, and the generosity of spirit is enjoyable.
