Memento
Nolan, Christopher
Medium:
Movie
Commentary
If nothing else, Christopher Nolan earned my admiration in this film for having the audacity to tell a story backwards. As it turns out, the ingenious story being told—about a man who has difficulty forming short term memories, played by Guy Pearce—is utterly suspenseful and ultimately winds up making a larger point about society as a whole.
Notes
(FYI, The film critic Leonard Malten hated the ending of this movie. I think he just didn’t get it.)
