Commentary

Typically our first exposure to what is known as the “Central Park jogger case” focuses on the assault of Trisha Meili, a woman who was jogging through Central Park in April 1989. This miniseries illustrates in scrupulous (and gutting) detail how five young men of color—previously referred to as the Central Park Five, now referred to as the Exonerated Five—were victims themselves of a biased police system hellbent on manufacturing convictions.
